Plant Nursery

A dedicated 5 acre space is allotted to the plant nursery. Under the canopy of large trees variety of saplings are grown for the plantation in the Garden and for the sale to the public at reasonable rates.

About Kundal...

Kundal Academy of Development, Administration and Management (Forests) was established by Government of Maharashtra vide its letter No.Est-2012/Pra.Kra.74/F-9/Mantralaya Mumbai, dated 5th May 2012, upgrading the status of the erstwhile 'Forestry Training School' to 'Kundal Academy of Administration, Development and Management'. This Academy will cater to the training needs of Range Forests Officers (RFOs), Assistant Conservators of Forests (ACFs) and other senior level officers from within and outside the state. The Academy is declared as a 'District Level Training Institute' under State Training Policy of Maharashtra and the proposal forest regional state has been sent to the Goverment. The Academy provide mandatory training under State Training Policy Evaluation Agency (STPEA), which comprises of Foundation Training, Refresher Courses, Post-Promotional Courses, and Orientation Courses. Special feature of the Academy is to provide outdoor exposure and training in the latest field of the development and management.

Features and facilities that exist in the Academy are -

  • Area of the Academy is spread over 29 acres, with constructional area of 1.73 lakh sq.ft.
  • 300 Residential capacity including spacious Library, Video Conferencing Room, Gymnasium and Yoga Hall.
  • 7 Classrooms with the capacity of 552 Trainee
  • Executive Hostel facility for 60 persons.
  • Three Computer Labs with 148 Computers and an e-Classroom.
  • Walking Track of 1 km, playground, Sports Complex.
  • There is a proposal to construct a new executive hostel with 40 rooms.
  • An Indoor Stadium are Badminton Court, Table Tennis, Snooker, Carrom
  • An Outdoor Stadium are Football, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball
  • There is an existing "Sahyadri Biopark / Garden".

Kundal Academy of Development, Administration and Management (Forests) was established by state government of Maharashtra in 2014. The academy is facilitate the training for upcoming Range Forest Officers (RFOs), Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACFs) and other senior level officers across India. The Academy also provides training courses comprising Foundation Training, Refresher Courses, Post Promotional Courses. The 29 acres campus has newly developed in year 2010 in view to establish biodiversity rich premises with diverse floristic composition. Plantation and cultivation of indigenous and horticulture plants provides field based knowledge of plants. The existing garden development is named as ‘Sahyadri Biopark’. The unique diversity creates a field based platform for the rangers, foresters, nature lovers to understand the morphological, taxonomic, biodiversity, arboreal information. In this regards scientific information of tree individuals of Kundal Academy would be helpful with effective and advance QR code methodology.
